Help us Keep the Pantry Stocked

To see a SHORT list of our most-needed food items, download the BSH Pantry List here.

There are dozens of creative ways to help stock our pantry, beginning with buying extra items when you do your regular shopping. Take advantage of your coupons and buy one/get one free promotions to support BSH. Or, put together a food or clothing drive where your efforts will pay off in big ways!

Providing food to hungry children, families and senior citizens is the foundation of our work, and it would not be possible without the generous contributions of the food industry, Second Helpings, food drive sponsors and individual food donors. BSH has recently partnered with The Food Bank of the Lowcountry, another great resource for purchasing food for our clients at rock bottom prices.

Church, Business and Group Donations

The work of BSH is truly a community effort, assisted in large part by the continuing generosity of the local food industry, churches and local groups. If not for regular donations by  distributors, supermarkets, and growers, there would be significantly less food for BSH to distribute to those in need. Whether it’s excess inventory, restaurant surplus, or products that are cosmetically imperfect or minimally out of date – BSH can use it to feed people.

Create a Drive to Support BSH!

It is amazing what happens when caring people come together to support their community. Bluffton Self Help has been the fortunate recipient of the kindhearted and hardworking adults and children who do not forget the needs of neighbors less fortunate. In addition to the many food and clothing drives sponsored each year by local groups, new “drives” are added regularly. Now, you can support a local diaper drive, milk & eggs drive, Easter basket drive, motorcycle toy drive, coat drive, and “blanket and robe drive”! What kind of drive can you think up to support BSH?

Your Donations Help in Many Ways.

If not for regular donations by manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, and growers, there would be significantly less food BSH to distribute to those in need. We truly appreciate our network of BSH supporters who donate their time, money and talents to the mission of Bluffton Self Help. We thank them for their gifts and we are privileged to put their compassion into action.

If you are an organization with excess inventory, surplus from restaurants, or products short code dated, or minimally out of specification, BSH can use it to feed our Bluffton neighbors.

Individual Food Donations

BSH gladly accepts unopened, nonperishable food items from individual donors. Donations can be dropped off at BSH anytime during our operating hours.

Here’s a tip: Create a habit of buying a few extra cans of food when you go to the grocery store, or take advantage of supermarket sales and two-for-one coupons. Donate your discounted or free items to BSH! The most requested items include canned meats and vegetables, beans and legumes, and disposable diapers in all sizes.
